Vets are Using the Post 9/11 GI bill to Go Back to School!

(Q24CWE2ACFX8) The call to serve our country is strong. I should know. I served on the USS Spruance as Signalman in the US Navy from 1994 to 1996, as well as in the inactive ready reserve through 2002. In my current profession as the Assistant Director of Financial Aid at Beckfield College in Greater Cincinnati, I have the privilege to also serve as the College’s VA Certifying Official. In this capacity, I help guide fellow veterans with their utilization of the educational benefits available to veterans from the United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Where do you find jobs?

Where do you find jobs? Most job seekers look online on one of the large job search sites but there are other places to unearth positions often over-looked.

Job seekers can prevent from missing great opportunities by putting together a job search strategy. A job search strategy is a written, formal plan for locating positions and hiring employers. This post reviews a list of tools you can utilize as you put together your personal strategy.

Show Me the Money!

There is no doubt that cost of tuition plays a factor in a prospective student’s decision to continue their education. However, there are ways to reduce the cost of college, from choosing an in-state college to applying for scholarships. The truth is, where there’s a will, there’s a way!

The Value of Student Services

As the economy continues to fluxuate, many are taking this opportunity to improve their skills and become more marketable by furthering their education. In deciding on the right college, I would advise students to consider the resources available to help them achieve their goals. One of the many advantages of some private career colleges is a student’s access to Student Services.

Be a professional and launch a career; don’t just look for a job!

Times are tough and the economy is enabling all of us to refocus our efforts on our futures. Many people are starting a first career, while others are working to apply their skill sets in a different career. The operative word in these sentences is “career,” not job.

Admissions 101: The Role of Admission Representatives in Post Secondary Education

The admissions process in post secondary education is more than just submitting an application and waiting for either an approval or denial letter in the mail. The role of admissions is to provide clarity for students on what to expect from the school, and in turn, what the school expects from the student
More...
