Diploma: Electrocardiography Technician

The Electrocardiography Technician program is designed to prepare graduates to provide basic office administration and clinical duties in a health care setting, including

· Electrocardiography

· Holter Monitoring

· Assisting with Patient Examinations

· Administration of Medications

Instruction includes Medical Terminology, Basic Anatomy and Physiology, Cardiovascular Anatomy and Physiology, and Electrocardiography. Graduates are eligible to sit for a certification examination.  Employment opportunities include electrocardiography technicians in hospitals, specialized outpatient clinics, cardiologist offices, and other physician practices.

Students in the last quarter of this program are required to complete an externship of 160 hours under the direct supervision of qualified personnel at a health care facility, and under general supervision of instructors.

This program has been approved by the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education, the Ohio State Board of Career Colleges and Schools, and the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools.
