How Beckfield Transformed NCLEX Results From 67.6% to 97.7%

We’re proud to share that our Diploma in Practical Nursing (DPN) program achieved a 30-point jump in NCLEX pass rates, rising from 67.6% in 2023 to 97.7% in 2024. Our story was recently featured in the ABHES Advantage newsletter, and we’re excited to highlight how persistence and precision made this possible.

Staying Focused

When we received the 2023 results, we didn’t back off; instead, we refocused. We streamlined the curriculum, eliminated distractions, and concentrated on the fundamentals of nursing education. Every assessment, case study, and clinical experience was redesigned to reinforce key concepts and build student confidence.

Teamwork at Every Level

We restructured the School of Nursing leadership model, added teaching responsibilities, and broke down silos. Communication improved, feedback was acted on quickly, and every tool was put to work, from simulation labs to peer mentoring and detailed data analysis.

Supporting Students Beyond the Classroom

Our tutoring center became the Student Success Center, a deliberate shift to position academic support as empowerment, not remediation. New Student Orientation now includes a “Words of Wisdom” session led by President Dr. Diana Lawrence, sharing the guiding principle:
“Discipline is choosing between what you want now, and what you want most.”
