Lead Instructor (Full-time) – Business & Technology Department
Job Description
A Lead Instructor is responsible for providing quality instruction to students by ensuring student satisfaction through the classroom or laboratory setting according to the program objectives. You will help prepare our students with the knowledge, skills and work habits required for entry-level positions in the field of Business and/or Information Technology. Additionally, the Lead Instructor is a main point of contact in advising students concerning their program of study. Applicants must be flexible to teach evening classes (6:00 pm -10:00 pm) and/or day classes (8:30 am – 12:30pm).
The Lead Instructor is expected to:
• Instruct material from approved curriculum and develop weekly lesson plans.
• Present enthusiastic, well prepared, organized, and clear lectures and classroom activities consistent with the course syllabus.
• Continually promote the development and effective use of skills in areas such as critical and analytical thinking, evaluation, communication, problem solving and decision-making.
• Actively participate in school retention initiatives by providing regular, accurate, and timely feedback to students and the school in regards to academics, behavior, attendance, etc.
• Maintain professional development activities and attend in-service activities in accordance with college standards.
• Maintain expertise in subject area and recommend improvements in curriculum design.
• Participates in core course academic support programs, certification programs.
• Work in coordination with the Academic Dean on curriculum changes.
• Perform additional reasonable duties as requested by the Academic Dean and other key administrators.
Requirements
• Minimum of 3 years teaching experience and applicable experience in Business or Information Technology or related area and 15 semester hours in the subject matter area are required.
• Bachelor’s degree required (Masters preferred). Degree must be from an accredited institution recognized by the US Department of Education.
• Must have exceptional oral and written communication and organizational skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, influencing, and presentation skills required.
• Must be professional in all aspects of the position including appearance, demeanor, and attitude.
• Prior teaching or training experience is helpful.
• Ability to utilize different methods and mediums in delivering course material.
• Proven educational or administrative experience in critical thinking, problem solving and judgment skills.
• Advanced in Microsoft Office, the Internet, and management system software.
